We, the Web kids; we, who have grown up with the Internet and on the Internet, are a generation who meet the criteria for the term in a somewhat subversive way. We did not experience an impulse from reality, but rather a metamorphosis of the reality itself. What unites us is not a common, limited cultural context, but the belief that the context is self-defined and an effect of free choice.

So…. I think this is a must read for everyone who wishes to understand the web better. Not so much the technical aspects but more the social, and cultural ones. I have only managed to get half way through at the time of writing this however… Something tells me this is bigger than most things out there.

Why do people not like traveling?!

Okay… so I have just spend the last… 8 hours in transit…? I don’t get how people find the traveling part so stressful. Just leave plenty of time between transfers, and all will be well. No need to rush, or panic, just leave enough time.

The part that I find stressful is the prep for going away. Making sure you have everything!

Making sure the doors and windows are locked.
Making sure you have all your tickets.
Making sure you are packed.
Making sure you packed enough.
etc…

Traveling is easy. I enjoy it even. I just don’t like packing.

Oh! By the way… this post is from a slightly different geographical location this time. I’m in Brussels ready and waiting for FOSDEM. Did you know? FOSDEM loves me :P. I have a shirt to prove it!

A good old chat.

So I just spent the last few minutes or so at the bus stop chatting to a lovely man in his 90’s about a number of things.

Started with card games then moved onto a friend of his who could count cards without the need for assistance. Later found out he and his friend were in Burma during the war. Unfortunately only he came back out of the two. 600 in 200 out.

Makes you think.

Glad we had that chat. It won’t be too long before you won’t be able to anymore. We’re coming to the end of another era. Get what you can out of it before it’s too late.
